Getting used to Vs To be used to: Time - line.

I hope this time-line helps clarify the difference between getting used to something and being used to something. See the text below.

I get up late.

I’m getting used to 6:30 alarm-calls. It’s not easy.
I’m used to getting up at 6:30

life.                             Got job.

When I was a student, I never had to get up early, but when I started working in September last year, I had to get up at 6:30 every day. It was very hard, and I thought I’d never get used to it, but now it’s just part of my routine.
